Mental Health Awareness Week 2023

As we observe Mental Health Awareness Week from the 15th to the 21st of May 2023, it’s a poignant reminder that mental health is a universal concern that touches every aspect of our lives, including our work environment. This week presents an opportunity to spotlight mental health issues, reduce stigma, and promote open conversations about mental wellbeing.

At Paragon Traffic Management, we are acutely aware of the unique mental health challenges that our traffic management operatives, office staff, and management may encounter. Recognizing the importance of mental health for our collective wellbeing and productivity, we have committed to supporting our staff’s mental health not only during this significant week but throughout the year.

Our Integrated Approach to Mental Health Support

In an effort to provide comprehensive mental health support for our entire team, we’ve introduced a range of initiatives and resources

Mental Health First Aider

We have a dedicated Mental Health First Aider available to all our staff. This trained professional is equipped to identify early signs of mental health issues and offer immediate support and guidance. This resource is a critical first step in ensuring our team members never feel alone in their struggles.

Mental Health Awareness Training

Every new employee undergoes Mental Health Awareness training as part of their induction. This training equips our staff with the necessary knowledge to identify mental health issues in themselves and others. It also fosters a supportive work environment where mental health issues can be openly discussed without fear of judgment.

Perkbox Wellbeing Support

We offer wellbeing support through Perkbox, a leading employee experience platform. With Perkbox, our team members have access to a wide array of resources and benefits designed to support their mental and physical health, from wellness content and fitness classes to discounts on wellness products and services.

Occupational Health Referrals

If an employee is experiencing mental health challenges, they can be referred to Occupational Health services through their line manager. These services offer additional support and guidance, ensuring that all our team members have the resources they need to navigate their mental health journey.

year-round commitment

As Mental Health Awareness Week unfolds, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting our staff’s mental health. But our dedication extends far beyond this week. At Paragon Traffic Management, we believe that mental health awareness is a year-round commitment. It’s a cornerstone of our mission and an essential part of our identity as a company that cares deeply for its people.

Together, we are Paragon Traffic Management – driving the route to mental health support and leading the way in creating a supportive, understanding, and inclusive workplace. We encourage everyone to reach out, connect, and remember: you are not alone. Help is always available, and it’s okay to ask for it.
