Innovations on the Horizon

The future of traffic management is buzzing with innovation. One anticipated development, which was first introduced in 2021 is the automation of cone placement utilising specifically built IPV’s (Impact Protection Vehicles).While not necessarily “New”, we believe 2024 will see a larger adoption of this technology. These automated cone laying machines aim to revolutionise how we manage taper deployment, making the process much safer by removing the risk of having people physically placing each cone and more efficient by means of reduced down times for set up and clear up.

Embracing Sustainability

As the world becomes more environmentally conscious, the temporary traffic management industry is not left behind. We and many other traffic management companies are moving towards redesigned equipment made from recycled materials, reducing waste and our carbon footprint by means of not needing to transport as much weight. Efforts are also underway to reduce the use of batteries in products like cone lamps, and the industry is leaning towards lightweight kits that are both efficient and eco-friendly.

Qualifications and Training Updates

With new technology comes updates to qualifications, training and best practices. While no major overhauls are expected, current courses like the 12D will be updated to reflect new legislation, guidance, and technological advancements. These tweaks ensure that the workforce is always equipped with the latest knowledge and skills.
