Ian and Matt joined the MS Society at Ongo Festival Scunthorpe to raise awareness of multiple sclerosis support. The festival brought local groups, charities along with families and residents together to celebrate community and positive local impact.
It also gave us the chance to support the MS community within our home town of Scunthorpe.
A festival focused on local people
Ongo is the region’s largest housing provider, working to improve local lives and strengthen communities.
That purpose closely reflects our own approach to social value.
Scunthorpe is where Paragon’s roots are, and our head office remains based in the town. Supporting events gives us the chance to stay connected with the community by meeting people face to face.
Supporting the MS Society
Matt Hardy and Ian Wells helped the MS Society by speaking with visitors to raise awareness of the charity’s work.
The MS Society provides information, support and a sense of community for people affected by multiple sclerosis. The Ongo Festival brings support into the community, helping people ask questions and find the help they need.
Every conversation matters. Raising awareness can help people feel less isolated and encourage more members of the community to support the charity’s work.
Social value means giving our time
Fundraising is important, but social value is not only about donations.
“Giving time, sharing information and showing up for local communities can be just as meaningful. “By volunteering, Matt and Ian supported an important cause while representing our values across the business,” said Shirley Young.
